2026 Playoffs Betting
The New York Knicks are NBA Champions for the first time since 1973. Jalen Brunson scored 45 points -- 13 straight in the fourth quarter -- to lead New York past San Antonio 94-90 in Game 5 on June 13, clinching the series 4-1. Brunson was named Finals MVP, becoming only the second player in NBA history to score 45 points in a championship-clinching road victory (Michael Jordan, 1998). The Knicks came back from double-digit deficits in all four of their wins.
Buffalo Sabres vs Montreal Canadiens; Round 2 (eliminated)
Buffalo's run ended in Round 2. After eliminating Boston in six on the back of Alex Lyon's first-round goaltending, the Sabres dropped a tight seven-game series to Montreal 3–4; the Canadiens closed it out in OT in Game 7 on Newhook's winner. The Sabres' first playoff series win since 2007 was nonetheless a milestone. Below: the full R2 game log against Montreal.
New York Knicks win the Eastern Conference Final 4–2
Knicks clinch on the road. New York closed out Cleveland 116–99 at Rocket Arena: Brunson 28 points, Karl-Anthony Towns 22 and 14, Josh Hart with a 17-point game on the wing. The Cavs led by 6 at the half but the Knicks outscored Cleveland 34–17 in the third. New York returns to the Finals for the first time since 1999 — a generation-defining wait. In the Finals, the Knicks lead San Antonio 3-1: two road wins to open, a Game 3 loss at MSG, then the largest comeback in Finals history in Game 4 (down 29, won 107-106 on Anunoby's tip-in). Game 5 is Saturday June 13 in San Antonio on ABC — a title clincher.

Betting recap
Knicks ML +180 in G5 -- WIN. Under 216.5 -- WIN (94-90 = 184 total). Brunson over 30.5 pts -- WIN by a mile. The under was the sharp play; San Antonio's desperation never produced the offensive burst to clear 216.5.
Historic context
New York's first title since Willis Reed limped onto the court in 1973. The Knicks returned to the Finals for the first time since 1999 -- a 27-year gap -- and delivered. Brunson joins a list that includes Jordan, Magic, and Bird as Finals MVPs who closed on the road.
